At Liam's School of Motoring, we provide structured driving lessons in a safe and friendly environment that is conducive to positive learning outcomes. Ensuring your safety and that of other road users is always our top priority while learning to drive.
EDT LESSONS
If you are only starting out in the Learning-to-Drive process, we will take you from the absolute beginning and build on this through our structured EDT sessions. If you are eligible for reduced EDT, you are only required to undergo 6 sessions.
PRE-TEST LESSONS
If you have already completed the mandatory 12 EDT lessons, we will ensure you build on this and further develop your Driving Skills to a high standard in advance of your Driving Test.

EDT LESSONS IN MULLINGAR, TULLAMORE & EDENDERRY
On passing the initial Theory Test, Learner Drivers can then apply for their Learner Permit through the NDLS. On receipt of your Learner Permit, you can then focus on completing the mandatory Essential Driver Training (EDT) course which comprises 12 individual 1 hour lessons.
On successful completion of EDT, we will be able to advise you of what standard your driving is at and we will advise when you should apply for the Driving Test. We understand the high standards that are required to pass but remember, it's not just about getting your licence, we teach you the correct skills you should adopt for life because safe and responsible driving is for life.
Some of our students have the benefit of being able to practice in a family member's car or a car of their own with a sponsor (†) between EDT sessions but not every student has this option. In such situations, it may be necessary to take additional lessons once EDT is completed to get to a good standard of driving. It is important you play your part in preparation for each EDT if you have a practice vehicle - practice is key.
(†) Your Sponsor must have held a full licence for Category B for a minimum of 2 years.
